A Little About Me
First off, I’m an animal lover – not interested in what they can do for me, but fully invested in how I can make their lives better.
To me, every animal deserves to live a happy, healthy life surrounded by people who love and care for them.
I’m also keenly aware of the challenges and limitations we all face in 2026. My goal is to bridge that gap between what we’d ideally want to do for our animals and what we can realistically accomplish.
I focus on horses and dogs because that’s where I feel I can have the biggest impact. I work on health and mindset, coaching today’s dog and horse owners in building health – both physical and emotional – responding to their animal’s needs, saving money, and transforming their lives with their domesticated partners for the better.
My journey to this work began in an unexpected place: the emergency department. During my years as a bedside nurse in emergency medicine, I witnessed something profound – patients who, by every medical textbook and scientific measure, should have died… lived. And others who should have thrived… didn’t. I realized there’s far more to health, healing, and life than what we learn in textbooks. That realization launched my exploration into holistic care, Eastern medicine, energy work, and the powerful connection between mind and body.
My Background & Credentials
I’ve been a registered nurse for 35 years and hold a graduate degree in Holistic Nursing and an MBA in Healthcare Administration. Throughout my nursing career, I’ve held varied roles – but emergency medicine has always been my clinical home.
Beyond my nursing career, I’ve invested years studying holistic animal health through extensive coursework in areas including massage, kinesiology, energy work, essential oils, herbs, and red light therapy, among others. I’m a Certified Animal Aromatherapy Specialist and an Advanced Level Applied Equine Podiatrist – I’ve maintained my own applied equine podiatry practice for 18 years.
I’ve also worked in a very large veterinary hospital, taught numerous courses in holistic horse care (both in-person and virtually), and have been running my horse health coaching program for five years. I recently completed my first book on natural dog care, Beyond the Vet: Breaking Free from the System That’s Failing Our Dogs , and help dog owners through a monthly support group that helps them transition to becoming empowered in taking care of their dogs’ health using natural products.
My home reflects my commitment to animals who need extra care. Right now, I share my life with a diabetic cat, a deaf cat, two dogs with spina bifida and an elderly Clydesdale. I’ve always gravitated toward special needs animals – they’ve been my greatest teachers.
Here's What I Want You to Know

You don’t have to be a veterinarian to make a profound difference in your animal’s health and quality of life.
In the animal world, there often seems to be two tiers: veterinary professionals and everyone else. But that’s a false divide. You can become educated, empowered, and effective without a veterinary degree. With some investment of your time and energy, you can help your animals immensely while also reducing your own stress, spending less money, and feeling more in control of your animal’s healthcare.
I’m not here to tell you to drop everything in your life or spend every dime on your animal’s care. That’s not realistic, and it’s not sustainable. What I am here to show you is that there’s a middle ground – a place where you can stay within your means and still do so much better than the conventional veterinary route alone, both for yourself and for your animals.
You can learn. You can grow. You can become the empowered caregiver your horse or dog needs. And I’m here to walk alongside you, sharing everything I’ve learned across decades of healthcare, holistic study, and hands-on animal care.
Let’s bridge that gap together.
